This coming of age story is directed by actress Olivia Wilde in her directorial debut.
High school best friends, Amy and Molly, are Ivy League students, Molly being the class president. Molly is proud to be going to Yale, while Amy wants to help people in Africa, taking a gap year.
On the last day of high school, Molly hears a few of her peers talking about her, and she confronts them. That's when she finds out, although they partied through high school, they still go to universities like Yale and Stanford. She decides to go to an end of high school party to see what she's been missing.
She convinces her best friend, Amy, to go with her, and they have a night full of adventures, trying to find where the parties are held, as they don't know where any of their school mates live because they are not friends with them.
The movie was enjoyable, I usually don't like movies about people who act stupid in or outside parties.
I like the bond the two leads had, I liked how they hyped each other, always saying not just nice, but great things about each other and to each other.
The acting was good, especially from the two leads who complement each other, literally and not, that's the best part of the movie.
Lisa Kudrow makes a cameo appearance.
The soundtrack was good.
The movie received positive reviews, and grossed 25 million dollars against a budget of 6 million.
Cinema Score rated the movie a B+.
The movie was nominated for many awards (including a Golden Globe for Beanie Feldstein), and won half of them.
Rating : Could have been a contender!
