A childless couple, who've been trying for years to have a baby, find a baby in a spaceship in the forest near their home. They adopt him,and 12 years later, weird things start happening.

Brandon starts realizing he has superpowers. At night he is drawn, first in his sleep, as he is sleepwalking, then when he is wide awake,to the place in the barn where the space ship is hidden,as the thing is talking to him in a foreign language. Brandon starts understanding it,word by word, and it seems to say " Take the world".

The movie doesn't really have an introduction,it starts right off the bat with Brandon's awakening powers. He realizes he is strong, he is chewing the fork, and breaks the hand of the girl he likes because she is mean to him (not really mean, she is scared of him). In her defense, he did show up at her house in the middle of the night, scaring her by turning her laptop on.

Once he understands the message- Take the world- sent to him, he knows no boundaries, and starts killing anyone and everyone whom he considers a threat. That includes his uncle and father.

I personally enjoyed the movie. It ponders on the evil Superman idea, and it makes you wonder.

Once the ship starts talking to him, Brandon does a 180, and from a nice person, he becomes downright evil. It doesn't matter to him who he hurts and why. Once he learns he is from an alien race he disconsiders his family who loves him and takes care of him, and the earth.

Brandon has his own signature which he likes to leave at the place of the crime, like a serial k1ller's trademark. He is a psychopath,in my opinion, as it doesn't matter who he hurts, his father, his mother..

His mother at first is on his side, and doesn't believe anything anyone says of him, until she finds his notebook with all the depictions of the crimes he committed.

The acting was great, especially from Elizabeth Banks , David Denman and Jackson A.Dunn.

I liked the soundtrack.

The visual effects were good.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics who felt the movie didn't live to its potential. I honestly felt the same, that it was too short, things happen fast, without any emotional built or depth, and it just ends with Brandon basically being evil.

The movie grossed 33.2 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 6 million.

Cinema Score audiences graded it a C+.

Rating : Worth a watch !
