The movie is based on Gillian Flynn's 2009 novel of the same name.

 

Libby Day has been living her whole life doing nothing,just living off what people donated to her for being an 8 year old who's whole family was slaughtered by her oldest brother,allegedly.

 

Libby is unlikeable,due to the fact she is very entitled,she doesn't want to work,but wants people to give her money,for free. She is running thin on money,and she hopes people will still donate as the 30 years anniversary of the murders is coming up! Also,she published a book,which she admits ,quite annoyed and rude,I might add,that she didn't write!

 

She accepts to do an appearance at a club who belongs to a man interested in famous murders. He has a lot of friends who like to solve murders,and they think her brother is innocent,and think her a liar.

She is told by the man he's gonna offer her more money if she investigates her family's murder and her brother's past.

 

Everybody thinks her brother killed her family because he was a rocker,who was into devil worship. Evidence does build up against her brother,as his room was filled with nasty things one would consider devil worship,and he was also accused by quite a few eleven year old girls that he molested them. Among many other things SPOILER he and his friends -girlfriend- were conjuring the devil,and killing cows!

 

The movie was all I expected from a Gillian Flynn movie ,the dark characters,one more effed up than the other,the twists at the end with the two perpetrators.. in her books when they found one killer,there's always another lurking in the shadows who did something else ( I'm thinking of Sharp Objects).

 

The actors were good,so was the soundtrack,and the plot with many characters who could have done it,because many had reasons.

 

Rating : Worth a watch !
