Kyle's husband just died, as he is believed to have jumped off a building, and she and her daughter are boarding a plane to take his body back to the US,as they currently stay in Berlin, where she works as a plane engineer.

Her 6 year old daughter, Julia, is afraid to fly, so Kyle hides her under her coat, in order to get in the taxi.

They board the plane first, before all the other passengers, and Kyle tells her daughter she helped build the plane they are on. Her daughter draws a heart on the steamy window of the plane.

One passenger tells her they can sleep at the back of the plane as there are some empty seats, and Kyle listens to his advice, sleeping on the empty seats with her daughter. When she wakes up, 3 hours later, her daughter is missing, along with her belongings, and nobody knows where she is.Not just that, they start thinking her crazy, because she won't stop looking for her, while nobody ever saw her kid, thinking she was alone.

The man who told her about the empty seats at the back turns out to be the air marshal, and because she persists, they check the passenger list where she is listed as traveling alone, and the captain receives a message saying Julia died with her father ! Everybody tells her she is insane, she boarded the plane alone, her daughter is dead just like her husband, and they even bring her a psychologist, who tells her after a trauma our brain refuses to believe the truth, so it creates a false reality!

Kyle almost believes she is insane, until she sees the heart her daughter drew on the plane window when they boarded!

I personally enjoyed the movie, it is pretty stressful, because Kyle is alone in this, nobody believes her, they all gaslight her, thinking her crazy. Nobody truly wants to help, the stewardesses seem bored and annoyed by her, the passengers hate her for her obsession with looking for her daughter, so nobody is on her side.

The actors were good, Jodie Foster was the best! She had to act sad, pensive, scared, anxious..

I thought the actress who played Julia, Marlene Lawston, looked like Peter Sarsgaard, she could have played his daughter!

The soundtrack was good.

The movie received mixed reviews, as the critics loved the acting, especially from Jodie Foster, but complained about the script.

Cinema Score audiences gave the movie a B+ on an A+ to F scale.

Flightplan grossed 223 million dollars at the box office, being a hit, against a budget of 55 million.

Rating : Worth a watch !
