The movie is based on Colleen Hoover's 2016 book of the same name.

Lily goes back to the town she grew up in, for her father's funeral. Her mother insists on her giving an eulogy, and in church, Lily has nothing to say.

Back to Boston, she meets Ryle after he wins a fight with a chair, upon entering the rooftop. He thinks that she wants to end it all, but she assures him she doesn't, so they start talking. She finds out he's a neurosurgeon, and somehow she finds that funny. They introduce each other, and we find out her name is Lily Blossom Bloom (people talk sh1t about this, but in Romania we have people named Ion Ion, Marin Marin, Gheorghe Gheorghiu,so.. ). Ryle tells her he wants to sleep with her, and she almost does when his phone rings and brings her back to her senses.

We see Lily in her adolescence when she met a homeless boy who's mother kicked out because her man was beating her, so she chose her man. She leaves clothes and food for him by the deserted house he lives in, and they befriend. She even offers to let him shower at her place.

Present day Lily buys a flower shop, and a woman walks in asking for work, although she's wealthy, and hates flowers. Lily hires her.

When they open, Lily finds out Ryle is her brother (small world!). Lily plays hard to get, although it's obvious she likes him.

Ryle pursues her, and she finally gives in, at his sister's birthday party (Colleen Hoover makes a blink or you'll miss it, cameo appearance ).

Past Lily likes plants and tells Atlas how roots are the most important part of the plant, and how trees don't need anyone to take care of them, unlike other plants, like the ones she cares for. He tells her he wants to move to Boston, "where everything is better".

He carves a heart for her. She tells him her father h1ts her mother.

Present day Lily has the same heart tattoo on her clavicle.

Ryle takes her to the Roots restaurant to finally meet her mother, and Lily discovers Atlas works there.

Ryle then cooks for her, but they fool around and he burns the food, so he decides to take it out of the oven bare handed, and burns his hand, and it looks like he hits her in the commotion.

From here on, she keeps on seeing Atlas by accident, or by going with Ryle to his restaurant, when Atlas and Ryle fight because of her bruised eye.

Ryle proposes to her ,and she accepts, so they get married. Atlas tells her that when she'll be ready to face the truth about what's going on with Ryle, he'll be waiting for her.

At first I enjoyed the movie, but as it progressed it started to bore me, as nothing actually happens. We do not see him h1tting her, it comes back in recollections as flashes, and even in the flashes, we don't see much,we don't see him h1tting her, it's just a hint. I don't know what I watched, if it was a censored version, but I didn't like it, because they're telling us what happened not showing us, and I like to decide for myself what's going on.

There's also a shaky camera thing going on, which I hate.

I hated Blake's outfits and hair (they make her look old). I actually hated everyone's outfits, as the men at times were wearing these ridiculous jumpers or whatever they were, looking as if they were made for kids.

I didn't like the names the characters had, like Atlas and Ryle!

Speaking of Blake, I heard this is her version of the movie. If so, I'd like to see the director's cut, it might be better.

Some of the lines are bad (she says she thinks she's in a p0rno because he cooks for her..)

Also, Ryle is a surgeon but he doesn't know to take hot things using gloves, as literally his hands are his job.

I did like her flower shop, which should have been called Lily's Blooms,as I think it sounds better.

The movie is called "It ends with us" because of a line she says to her newborn in the hospital, and also, I'm guessing, because she wants to stop the cycle of abuse which started with her parents.

The movie was directed by Justin Baldoni, and produced by Blake Lively, Colleen Hoover being an executive producer.

The movie received mixed reviews, and grossed 351 million dollars against a budget of 25 million, being a success.

The acting was good.

I liked the soundtrack ,the artists' songs.

The movie is 30 days free on Amazon Prime, Amazon Prime with Ads; 10 days free on Foxtel Now; 7 days free on Binge; on Netflix with subscription; for rent / sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.

Rating : Could have been a contender !
