The movie was written and directed by Alexandra Cassavetes.
Djuna is a vampire who loves old movies. On one of her trips to the movie store rental, she sees Paolo and is immediately attracted to him. Paolo senses her stare, and I guess, her wanting him, makes him want her, so when she storms out, he follows her.
They start talking, and go to her place, where they watch an old vampire movie. More like, she watches it, as he is always staring at her. Once they start kissing, Djuna starts changing,so she asks him to leave.
Paolo leaves, but calls her the next day, and comes in the evening to see her. She is afraid to open the door to him, so they talk and kiss through the barely opened door. And she bites his lip by mistake.
Paolo can't get Djuna out of his head, so at night, he's at her place again. Djuna tells him she's a vampire, and turns him.
Their happiness is short lived,as her troubled sister comes to live with them.
The movie is not bad, but I felt something was missing.
Djuna is a nice vampire, who only “eats” animals, and teaches Paolo to do the same. She’s from a community of “vegetarian” vampires who don’t believe in k1lling people.
Djuna’s sister is a psycho, who disregards human life, and goes out every night making at least one victim, ripping humans apart, drawing attention to her. She is stronger than the other vampires as she drinks human blood, and can even hypnotize the other vampires, as we see her making Paolo do her bidding.
The acting was so and so. Milo Ventimiglia was the best, the others were so and so, it might have been due to the accents. And may I say, Milo looks amazing in this movie! I loved the way Paolo stared at Djuna. They have this instant attraction to each other, and their relationship moves very fast.
The soundtrack was good, it reminded me of old movies in a good way, as it had that vibe.
The visual effects were good.
Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains nudity and violence.
Rating : Could have been a contender !
