On the 23d of December, archangel Michael descends from heaven. He cuts off his wings, losing his powers, and gets a lot of ammo.

One of his colleagues in God's legion, doing God's will, is trying to stop him,by possessing one of the cops who stop ,seeing he blew a cross-like hole in the ammo store.

A pregnant woman, working at a diner in the desert, where only people who got lost, visit, wants to give her baby away,as she hates it. The man who is in love with her, is trying to make her keep it,telling her he'll help her with the baby.

An old woman comes to the diner, asks for raw meet that flies flock to, and starts picking on the pregnant woman. She bites a man on his neck, and starts climbing the ceiling,so the people in the diner shoot at her until they manage to k!ll her.

The diner is under siege by these drones-people who have been hijacked by angels-,as they try to get in to k!ll the baby,or stop it from being born,as there's a prophecy, that is never actually explained-we don't know why this particular baby needs to die,and who is this baby-we're only told God decided to k!ll the world, and that would happen if this baby is dead.

So,these drones are attacking the diner, or more like, the people in the diner,so they'd open the door,to give them access to the baby.

It was just stupid! I honestly think - the way the movie started and ended - that they were inspired by Terminator and Sarah Connor, just that it wasn't Terminator, and the waitress was no Sarah Connor.

The movie personally bored me. The only thing I liked about it was the soundtrack written by John Frizzell. I gave it a 2 stars rating for it,and for the acting.

I didn't understand why Michael had a collar on his neck, but maybe it was supposed to represent allegiance to God. I liked how when he cut his wings, it looked like he had a halo on his head which broke with the wings, and so did his collar. As in,he didn't obey God anymore.

It took me out of it,when they let us know the ones possessing people - looking ugly, with sharp teeth(WHY?!) and completely black eyes, morphing into spider-like creatures - are angels!!

Also, that explanation of Michael getting a second chance - for not listening to God - ,while the ones who followed God's orders being the ones failing 'God's test' was just stupid bullsh!t and bad writing!

Oh,and Michael bleeds, although he's and ANGEL (he sews his flesh after he cut his wings in the beginning)!!! They are not built like us,they are not flesh and blood!!!!

I also didn't like the characters, especially the pregnant woman, who hated her child, and considered it responsible for destroying her life, when she was the only one responsible for her actions!

The actors were all good.

The visual effects were good.

The soundtrack was great, eerie, with amazing choirs,if only it had a movie to match!

The movie was a box office hit, although it opened to negative reviews, earning 67 million dollars against a budget of 26 million.

The movie spawned the tv series Dominion, set 25 years after the events in Legion.

Legion is for 7 days free on AppleTv+, on AMC and Netflix with subscription, for rent / sale on Amazon, Apple, Fandango at Home.

Rating : Could have been a contender !
