The movie is based on Annalisa Daughety's book "Love finds you in Charm Ohio".

 

Emma is an Amish girl different from all the rest because she likes to read magazines and books( her favorites are the ones of Jane Austen) of the English(how they call our society[from what I read for my books,the Amish are communities in the USA and Canada]),loves to watch planes crossing the sky,and imagines herself driving convertibles. She even has the love of Jacob,a man whom her family approves of. But,as faith would have it, she really doesn't seem to be happy with her life anymore.

 

Her father always knew that she was different,and trying to help her,sends her to her cousin in Charm, who just lost her husband and needs help with the farm.

 

There she befriends and Englisher woman,who takes her on convertible rides,and finds a handsome Amish man,the cousin of the deceased,who seems to share her passion for reading Englisher's books,and for Jane Austin books. He even recommends her his favorite Jane Austin book,Sense and Sensibility.

 

The man shows an interest in her,as he lets her discover who she is and who she wants to be ,listening to her,and giving her small gifts which mean a lot.

 

But,as faith would have it,she sparks the interest of an Englisher who writes food articles for a magazine. He wants to interview her as everybody loves the cheese she makes.

Emma seems to be interested in him as well.

 

The scenery is breathtaking,the music pretty good for such movies ( romantic ones).

Most of the actors are doing a good job,but there are a few who aren't that good ( like her cousin and the bed and breakfast owner),and in certain scenes they just look awkward. There are also certain scenes ( after she arrives at her cousin's farm and they talk in front of her house) in which all the actors seem awkward.

 

Something that bothered me was,she dresses like the "Englisher"meaning us,for the Englisher,and the moment the man tries to kiss her she freaks out! She can't be that unaware of the world! I mean,if you're gonna dress like us,the man is gonna assume you're willing to try the rest.

Also, I didn't appreciate how the Englisher had to be an arseh*le in the end,so she could be with Trevor.
