Latina superstar Kat Valdez planned to marry Bastian,a Latino pop star,in front of her biggest fans,on stage. Right before the marriage,on that very same night,as they have the concert,Kat sees a video of Bastain with her assistant ,and instead of marrying him,she marries a random man from the audience.
Charlie is a single father and a math teacher. He is divorced and still in good terms with his ex wife, although we never see her. We hear that she wants to meet Kat,but that's it.
At first, they, well,Kat's team, plan to keep appearances for a few months and then file for divorce. But,getting to know each other, they start falling for each other.
Bastian comes back into the picture,as he tries to win her back, with the news they were nominated for a Grammy with the Marry Me song.
The movie had me for an hour, then I kinda lost my interest. First of all,I don't like musicals, the only musicals I ever liked were Moulin Rouge and Pitch Perfect, and that was because I liked the music, second, well, I didn't like the music, the lyrics were beautiful, but the melody line bored me,maybe it was because I'm a rocker at heart ( although, I used to like Jennifer Lopez's music until her "Como ama una mujer" album-which to me was her best album).
Kat seems to live a shallow life as she has a team which films everything she does, everything happening in her life, and she also, can't do anything by herself, she is co-dependent,like,if she wants to go somewhere, eat something, she tells others to plan the trip and bring her the meal .
The actors are good,Jennifer is not as good as she was in Hustlers but not as bad as she was before Hustlers..
Rating : Worth a watch !
