The mini series are based on Sidney Sheldon's book of the same name,published in 1990,as a sequel to his 1973 best-seller 'The other side of midnight'.

 

The first part starts with a nightmare the lead has,in which her husband and his mistress plot to kill her,and upon awakening remembers her name,Catherine. The woman is in a monastery, which is financed by a Greek billionaire who takes interest in her.

When he hears she remembers her name, he takes her to his home, and offers her a job in Amsterdam(although,considering she had no idea who she was,she only remembered her name,I don't know how could she do any job,especially the one he gave her in Amsterdam).

 

Before leaving for Amsterdam,Catherine walks around town,and ventures inside a fortune teller's shop,who calls her Catherine Douglas,telling her she's dead.

 

The billionaire, Constantin Demiris,who insists she calls him Costa, tells her it is best to never remember the past or think of it. We then find out, although married, Costa had many extra marital affairs,and had an affair with the woman Catherine's husband cheated on her with, and Costa had them executed as they were found guilty in the trial regarding her death.

 

Costa has a beautiful,elegant wife who is the sister of his nemesis,who mostly hates him due to how he treats his sister.

 

As Costa starts to feel threatened by the people hired in the trial to lead the two into their deaths,he starts hiring people to kill them one by one.

 

When the people around Catherine show interest in her,they have accidents,and when she remembers her name and past, Costa decides to take care of her too.

 

This was one of my favorite mini series growing up,and I still liked them when I watched them,last night. Everything in these movies is just perfect .It just gives you the feeling of a good story with interesting characters.

I liked the actors, the beautiful landscapes, the beautiful houses and interior design with murals and large paintings.

I loved the women's clothing and jewelry, especially Catherine's and Melina's.
