Police officers investigate the murder of a young man who was found dead in a forest after they chase after a car. Three years later the investigation reopens. We find out the man was a male prostitute who liked to film himself with the people who paid him. Maybe that was his downfall.

The movie started out well but lost me towards the end as one of the lead police officers seems to have been involved in the murder. The lead police officer is unlikeable to me,she had an affair with her boss who was married and had children,was also involved with the male prostitute,tried to be involved with one of the investigators-a woman-when they were young..and now had an affair with the other investigator working the case with her..she just seemes all over the place,the kind of person who attaches herself to whoever is working with,no matter the consequences.

The movie is called ‘the mist’ because that part of Tenerife,where the action takes place, is foggy during the storyline ; ‘the maiden’ because the male prostitute was on film having s3x with a 14 year old,who’s father was a very important person,the father who was arrested and trialed for his murder but found not guilty.

I hated how everyone in the movie talked about s3x,as in ‘effing’ as if they were animals,I never heard anyone saying ‘making love’ just ‘effing’.Even the 14 year old,now 17, was talking like that. She said she ‘effed’ the male prostitute because she loved him. I don’t think a girl in love would talk like that when it comes to having s3x with the man she loves.

I liked the movie up until the end when they ruined it. I don’t even know what happened. It ended so abruptly I felt like something was missing. I’m not even sure who’s done it,it felt like it ended up on a limb for a sequel.
