The movie is based on a famous video game - Monster Hunter.

 

So,the movie starts with this ship sailing the sands of this new world. They end up fighting these monsters. Cut scene to our world in which Milla's army team are looking for an army team which went missing. Something happens and they end up in an alternate universe.

 

For a while there was only Milla and Tony Jaa on screen, and Tony didn't have lines especially in English which I understood he can speak.

 

The action scenes were great but the movie didn't really have a plot nor character development. At the end of the movie we still know nothing about the leads.

It was just them fighting these gigantic crustaceans. The whole time I waited for her to say something like,"in my world we eat them and can crush them with our foot."

 

Ron Perlman is in the movie too,looking like the Lion King,and he can speak English but the Asian actor can't,although he can,in real life!

There's a quote at the beginning of the movie but it's not attributed to anyone! Also,they give us the latitude and longitude!

There's a few product placements,like Coca-Cola and Hershey,that Tony's character goes completely ballistic for,although he didn't seem that hungry before eating it.

There's a few car crash scenes and they're all fine,nothing broken…

 

I really wanted to watch this movie because I love action movies,I love watching fighting scenes,to me they are like a dance. This movie started out so well,but then they completely f@ked it up.

The soundtrack sounds good but I don't think it matches,I think rock would have matched .
