The movie is based on the book of the same name written by Mickey Rapkin,published in 2008.

 

The movie opens with an A-Capella contest,which the leads of the movie, the Barden Bellas,lose due to one of their singers throwing up on stage. Now they are mocked by all.

 

Beca brings herself to the college her father is teaching at, as she is in her first year, but she doesn't want to be there, as she wants to move to Los Angeles, and make music. She has a roommate who doesn't talk to her, and seems unsocial.

 

Taking her father's advice to give college a chance,and try to make friends,after a month of being alone, she agrees to go to the Barden Bellas auditions,after one of their group leaders heard her sing in the shower.

 

She is in, but after, she keeps on bumping heads with one of the group leaders, who doesn't want to sing new songs,and just keeps the group in the past (meaning the 80's -90's), always singing the same retired song,in every competition,while all the other groups perform new songs every time.

 

She is attracted to one of the boys who is part of their nemesis group, The TrebleMakers,who win every contest, which the lead told them not to get involved with, as this will lead to their removal from the group. She is serious, as after a few girls partied with the Treblemakers, she threw them out of the group.

 

The movie has beautiful songs arrangements, and the actors have beautiful voices.I loved the soundtrack.

The actors are good.
