Oscar is a fish who works at a car wash like his father before. He hates his job and dreams about becoming rich and famous.

 

Lenny is the son of the shark family who terrorizes the aquaworld,being like a sort of mob .His father who is in charge of the family business,wants to leave it all to him and his brother,but Lenny is first of all,a vegetarian,second,doesn't want to be a mobster.

Oscar has a debt of 5000 clams that he owes mister Sykes which he has to pay by the next day,as mister Sykes is now threatened by Don Lino.

Angie is a lady fish who is secretly in love with Oscar,but he sees her as his best friend. She gives him the pink pearl her grandmother gave her to pay his debt.

Oscar gets the money he needs to pay mister Sykes but hearing about a lucky horse,he bets everything on it,thinking he'll make lots of money. Problem is,the horse is clumsy,aka accident prone. So,he loses.

Mister Sykes ,who is like a smaller mobster, sends his medusozoans aka henchmen to finish him.

Lenny and his brother,Frankie,are in the same area of the ocean,as Lenny has to prove himself .

When they see the sharks the henchmen run.

Lenny pretends to eat him,and while his brother had enough of his antics,an anchor falls on top of him. Lenny flies,not knowing how to explain this to his father,and the two henchmen come back hearing commotion,finding Oscar with the dead shark. They think he killed the shark,and he pretends he did,just to get famous.

 

Oscar is now on every magazine cover and lives in a penthouse. He gives Angie her pink pearl back,and gets Lola's attention.

Lola is a gold digger who is interested in Oscar when she hears he is rich and famous.

Having a party at his new bachelor pad,there's news of a shark attacking the reef. So Oscar has to go fight it.

He realizes Lenny is the shark in question,who asks him to "take him home"with him.Lenny finds out Oscar is called the shark slayer and "blackmails" Oscar into hiding him. Oscar finds out Lenny's father is "the godfather" .

Mister Sykes is bragging to Don Lino,about the shark slayer,not wanting to pay him the fake protection fee,which is another word for stealing.

Oscar is now scared Don Lino is gonna k1ll him,finding out he is the one k!lling his son. Just that,Oscar didn't k!ll anyone.

The movie was funny, the actors had good voices,and were good at acting and translating emotions through their voices.

The computer animation was a bit meta,with the godfather line,since Martin Scorsese who made the Godfather was in it,and Oscar saying lines like 'you had me at hello' from Jerry Maguire,that Rene was in,while she was watching him say it.

 

I didn't like how the lead fish looked(Will Smith's, Rene's and Angelina's) I think they should have made them look like the ones in Fish Police.

I hated the soundtrack,I think it was one of the worst ever!The music sounded so boring,so outdated,so generic!

The movie made 374 million dollars against a budget of 75 million, being the 9th highest grossing movie of 2004. It received mixed reviews, and was nominated for an Oscar, for Best Animated Feature.

CinemaScore audiences gave it an A- on an A+ to F scale!
