The movie is adapted from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

 

Viola is a girl who loves football,or how Americans call it, soccer. Her school's female football team is dissolved, so she decides to pose as her twin brother who goes to London with his band,at Illyria school where he is registered.

 

There ,she gets into a few funny situations,as she tries to befriend her roommate and his friends. Her roommate and his friends warm up to her/him after her friends help her pose as a very popular man with the ladies.

She also gains the respect of her coach as she trains very hard to play in the male team.

 

And,she falls in love with her roommate,Duke ( Channing when he was young,slim and hot-I don't like how Hollywood makes its leading men buff-bulk up) who is in love with Olivia.

 

Amanda looks like a boy/kid in the man outfits,and yet,she gets one of her female friends,Olivia, to fall for her disguise,as in,fall in love with her male character.

 

The movie was funny,entertaining,the actors were great,the only which I felt didn't give 100% were Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum.

 

The soundtrack was good.

The movie received mixed reviews, and grossed 57.2 million dollars against a budget of around 25 million.

CinemaScore audiences gave the movie a B+, on an A+ to F scale.

Movie trivia: Amanda Bynes insisted Channing Tatum was cast in the movie, as the studio was hesitant as he wasn't famous .
