Ruth,who suffers from panic attacks, is convinced by her boyfriend to go hiking and camping in the forests of the Pacific Northwest,as he's done the route at least 3 times.

 

After spending the night there,Harry takes her to the edge of the forest, where the water meets the land, and proposes.

Ruth has a panic attack,and refuses.

 

We don't know much about the characters,only what they say to each other,which is not much. We find out she is afraid of marriage due to how her parents were, and that she goes to the psychiatrist whom she tells what she thinks they need to hear to get her pills.

 

The day before they arrived, an alien ship landed in the forest,and is hunting the grounds.

 

The movie has a plot twist,and in order to give you my thoughts I have to give SPOILERS. You've been warned. The alien is a shape shifter,who not only looks exactly like the person it impersonates,but also gets their memories,fears,and all. The alien was invincible ,unable to be killed ,which bothered me. I hate when they create all powerful characters like this. Also,the alien could grow tentacles and other similar things,and even turn its hands into sharp weapons! Turning into one of the leads,you probably guessed who,'cause it's always like this, the alien loves the significant other,as those were the feelings of the person,and turns into a sort of stalker,which to me was too much!It even gives speeches like a pissed off teen or psycho when deciding to finally kill the lead! Also, it was too human!

 

The acting was fine.

I loved the soundtrack,especially at the end!

 

The movie is a Paramount+ production,and is streaming on Paramount+ Amazon Channel, Paramount+ Roku Premium Channel.

 

Rating : Could have been a contender !
