A couple is waiting on their relatives and close friends to come over for the Christmas celebration. We see the wife preparing the rooms,and the husband chasing the chickens away?!

Although is Christmas,and they have their friends and family invited over, they didn't buy everything they needed,as one would (rolling my eyes).

 

As the couples arrive we get the sense that something is not quite right,as one of the kids is obsessed with the end of the world,and keeps on checking this site on his phone.

 

It seems a normal Christmas gathering,with normal people and their problems ( they don't like some of their friends; one of them,invited at the party (who seems shallow and all about herself,just like her daughter) hits on a guy right next to her husband;her daughter is disliked by everyone,because she's a spoiled b!tch ) ,with one exception.They talk about wasting their money on expensive things because the end is coming.

 

As the story of this family and their relatives unfolds,we see these poisonous funnel clouds rampaging through the world,as people take a poison pill so they won't die a horrible death from the toxic clouds.

 

The only one asking questions is a kid,everybody else just takes the narrative given by the government and the media as true,because we know, they are never wrong!

 

I personally enjoyed it,I liked the feeling of impending doom,it reminded me of Melancholia(although I hated that movie,I watched it for Alexander Skarsgard) ,it was bittersweet.

 

Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie is full of cuss words, everybody curses, including the kids! Which I hated.

 

The acting was good.

 

The visual effects were good.

 

The soundtrack was good, most of the songs, with the exception of one,are Christmas songs.

 

I would have given it a higher rating,but I'm sick of the Hollywood woke cr@p,and this one has quite a bit of it in it,and it doesn't even make any sense. The narrative is, we polluted the earth,so it turned against us,hence the poisonous funnel clouds,which kill people and turn them into zombies!?What?! This is as bad inspiration as the writer of Maze Runner who said the sun made people sick and turned them into zombies!! 

 

Rating : Could have been a contender !
