It is a futuristic society, where androids are in every home, helping people as servants around the house, and even in shops and restaurants.

Faye lost her husband in a car accident, and she put his memories in a simulant who looks just like him, something they both agreed to before ( I didn't get this, why would they want this? I understand in the context of one of them being dead, but if both of them are, it doesn't make any sense. The thing is they bought these simulants and kept them in their home, charging them with their memories daily!).

The simulant thinks it's her husband, and even has dreams and nightmares about their lives and accident.

Faye can't deal with it, and moves it into a hotel for a month. She has a simulant expert look at him,and the guy lives next door to him,at the motel. The guy looks through its system, and gives the simulant free will, making it impossible for humans to shut it down.

The simulant is trying to get Faye back, as it loves her, thinking her to be his wife. Faye rejects him,and starts being afraid of it.

Kessler is working for AICE- Artificial Intelligence Compliance Enforcement, tracking simulants which went offline, and bringing them back into the fold. He is tracking a simulant by the name of Esme, who's been offline for 3 years, who seems to have been living on her own, who is not responding to commands. Looking through her things, after he and his partner barely catch her, he finds out she had a diary, and liked to draw.

He finds out she's been altered to not answer commands, and do as it pleases-basically she was given free will, and had an affair with Casey, also known as Desmond (there's a reason the person has two names and it's not what you're thinking ),who used to work for the simulant company, the same guy who worked on Faye's dead husband simulant.

Faye and Evan have a beautiful big house (with an indoor pool), and a cabin in the woods, while she is a painter and he is a composer (I didn't know they could make so much money,as I'm guessing the simulants with their pods can't be cheap either, and they also have a servant simulant).

The visual effects were good. Overall the movie looks good, the clothes looked good, the places they filmed at were nice.

I personally liked the movie, it didn't bore me, it pulled me into the story, and kept me interested in the plot.

What I didn't get was, why would anyone want a simulant unless is to get over the one they loved, because if it's to just live on after death,it makes no sense, as they still die,it's just androids with their memories going on. Faye still kept her simulant (why?),I guess thinking she'll find someone new..it didn't make any sense..considering she was afraid of Evan's simulant because he was too persistent.

The actors were great, starting with the ones who played androids and ending with the ones who played real people.

The soundtrack was great, sometimes eerie,as if predicting what's about to happen (like an omen),but beautiful!

Simulant is for free on Hoopla and Hulu, and for rent / sale on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTv, and you can buy cinema tickets for it from Fandango.

Rating : Worth a watch !
