The movie is based on the Marvel comics Spider Man, it's the 2nd Spider Man reboot, the 16th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has 2 sequels, released in 2019 and 2021.

After the battle of New York, in 2012, showcased in the Avengers movie, mister Toomes and his salvage company are cleaning up the city, when the Department of Damage Control (a partnership between Tony Stark and the USA government) come and take over, being very rude to them and even threatening them.

Upset at how he and his team are treated, Toomes and his employees decide to keep the Chitauri technology they found, and use it to create weapons.

8 years later, Peter Parker is trying his best to be picked into the Avengers, but Tony Stark tells him he is just a kid, and needs to stay in school.

Instead of focusing on his studies (he quits the decathlon), he spends his spare time looking for bad people to fight and stop from committing crimes.

In his search to find and catch bad guys, he comes in contact with Toomes' employees, and almost drowns trying to catch the Vulture . He is saved by Iron Man's suit, and Tony Stark tells him to live his life and stop catching criminals.

When tracking a device found on Toomes' guys , Peter and his friend, Ned, find out they are in Maryland. So he rejoins the decathlon as the team rides to Washington.

In Washington although in the company of the girl he likes (Liz), he is more interested in catching bad guys he's supposed to stay away from.

Trying to catch the bad guys, he does save Liz's life.

He finds out Liz likes him too, so he invites her to the Homecoming Ball, and finds out , when he comes to take her to the ball, her father is the Vulture.

Toomes realizes he is Spider Man, and offers to let him go (for saving his daughter's life), if he stays away from him and his team from there on.

Will Peter enjoy the evening in the company of the girl he likes, or will he try to go after the bad guys, again, and play the superhero?

I personally enjoyed the movie, it was funny, and action packed. Peter was nice and so desperate to be liked by Happy (whom he seemed to annoy with his fervour) and to be part of the Avengers team, and just be a superhero, and prove himself, although he was just a 15 year old kid.

In his quest to become a superhero, he pushed studies aside, and even the girl he liked, as whenever he got a chance to be with her, he chose to go after the bad guys instead.

The actors were good. It was surprising to see Batman himself (Michael Keaton is my favorite Batman) playing the villain, and another winged character.

The visual effects were good.

The soundtrack was good.

The movie received mostly positive reviews, Cinema Score audiences giving it an A, on an A+ to F scale.

The movie grossed almost 880 million dollars against a budget of 175 million, being the 4th most successful Spider Man movie (the most successful was "Spider Man : No way home" which made 1.9 billion dollars; the 2nd most successful, "Spider Man : Far from home" made 1.132 billion; the 3d, Spider Man 3 (2007) making almost 896 million dollars), and the 6th highest grossing movie of 2017.
