Shirlee is fired for talking to the clients instead of dancing with them.

She leaves her boyfriend one night after he leaves her alone for a night out with his friends. She packs her things and moves to Chicago, where, after trying to get job after job she is mistaken for a psychiatrist ,and ends up on the radio, giving advice.

James Woods is playing a good guy in this movie ( I don't think I ever saw him playing a good guy, except for maybe in Videodrome ).He plays Jack Russell, a reporter who wants to write a piece about her,and ends up falling in love with her.

They first meet on the bridge, right after Shirlee just got to Chicago, and tries to rescue her,as he sees her off the ledge, thinking she's trying to k!ll herself ( in his defense, who in their right mind, would cross over the railing to get 20 dollars?! in high heels, while she leaves her purse on the street, and nobody steals it!!! ).

She then gives advice to his girlfriend who leaves him,so he doesn't like her much.

Michael Madsen ( now I really never saw him play a good guy,and I saw him in so many movies!) plays her redneck boyfriend who doesn't have a job. He's talking trash about her, how she can't cook, or keep a job, but he is unemployed for 8 months!

Shirlee is a nice person, cares about everyone, and always has time for people. I also like the advice she gives.

The actors are all fine, the movie is a feel good movie, a light hearted one.

I didn't like the soundtrack. All the songs are sang by Dolly Parton, and I personally don't like them.

The movie is streaming on Hoopla, Pure Flix, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, Apple , AMC on Demand, DirecTv, Google Play, Redbox, Microsoft Store, Vudu, YouTube.

Rating : Worth a watch !
