The movie was written and directed by Stewart Raffill.
Jennifer and her husband, Jack, are a wealthy couple who go on a yacht cruise for the Christmas holidays.
Before embarking, they see Manuel, a crew member, fighting with his girlfriend, as he tells her he never wants to see her again.
His ex girlfriend puts a curse on him.
Manuel also has problems being nice to the customers who are actually nice to him. He is always angry and snaps at his boss. He throws the piece of cloth he had in his hand on the stove, and it catches fire, setting the yacht ablaze.
Fast forward, after the fire, it’s just Jennifer and Manuel on a deserted island together, and it’s obvious Manuel likes her. He is asking her to take skinny dipping swims so she “won’t stay wet” although she’s in her bathing suit, and she goes along with it.
In the water, when Jennifer asks him why did he hit his ex in front of everyone, he says because she hit him too, and because she wants to marry him because she’s pregnant, and Jennifer understands he doesn’t want to marry her because she’s not a virgin.
Manuel tells her her husband is an annoying rich man, but Jack was nothing but nice to him until that point.
Jennifer stops talking to him, and the next day, seeing him go fishing, she talks to him again. He finds Jack in the reef.
Jennifer showers Jack with love, but he gets jealous saying she was alone with Manuel for 2 days, thinking something happened between them.
Jack sends Jennifer to catch fish with Manuel, although jealous, and turns into the a$hole Manuel thinks him to be.
When the 2 of them come back, they see Jack moved the hut Manuel built, and he makes him take the smaller hut to live in.
Manuel catches the food, cooks it, and Jack is acting up, thinking the two have an affair.
The men fight, and Jack decides he’ll catch his own food.
Manuel doesn’t hide his feelings anymore, and tells Jennifer he actually likes her and wanted to kiss her since the moment he first saw her.
Manuel offers Jennifer the food he caught and cooked, and Jennifer kisses his cheek.
When Jack steals Manuel’s goggles and Manuel wants to go after him, Jennifer tries to stop him, and Manuel jumps her. He doesn’t have to do much convincing work, because she seems to want him too.
When Jack comes back and gives him the goggles back, Jennifer tells him Manuel wanted to go after him and k1ll him. Jack realizes the reason Manuel didn’t do that was because she had s3x with him, and has a fit, moving to a different part of the island .
When Jack finds a boat and doesn’t want to share it with them, Jennifer tells Manuel to get it from him at all cost.
The movie was fine, but it kinda bored me. It felt like it was a lot of back and forth. The movie skips the part of how they got to the island, and the first scene of the movie is of them on the island. Whenever they would manage to do something, like get a boat to leave the island, something like the boat sinking would turn them right back, and so on.
The characters turn on each other, especially the men, who both want the same woman, more or less.
SPOILER - All this happens because Manuel’s ex wants him dead.
The place where they filmed was beautiful.
The acting was good.
The soundtrack was good, it sounded..romantic.
The movie was originally titled Three, which is the title it goes by in England.
The movie has low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (17% from the critics, and 28% from the audience), no ratings on Metacritic, and a 4.9 rating on IMDB.
The movie was a flop, grossing only almost 560.000 dollars at the box office, against a budget of 9 million dollars.
Viewer discretion is advised, as the movie contains nudity.
