The animation is an anime film based on the ballet composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76,and has the same soundtrack .
Prince Siegfried rides through the forest one day, when he sees a swan on the lake with a crown on its head,the other swans flock to. When his friend wants to k1ll it, because of its beauty (this disgusted me. It shows the level of some people,k1lling things for their beauty) he is turned to stone.
The prince is asked by his mother to find a wife,as coming of age (I'm guessing he turns 18,wow,so old!) he becomes the king and a king can't rule alone, he must be married! She tells him she invited a few princesses to the ball celebrating his birthday, to choose from.
The prince accepts although he can't get the swan out of his head! He decides to go to the lake again,to see her! He follows her on land, through this steep hill,and narrow paths, and sees her turn into a woman when she approaches a castle.
He talks to her, and finds out she's under the spell of a warlock in love with her, who kidnapped her and destroyed her kingdom for she refused to marry him,3 years before.
Siegfried asks her to come to the ball,so he can marry her.
The warlock still thinks he can persuade Odette to marry him,because nothing says 'love' like keeping someone trapped,turning them into something else so no one would fall for them, and destroying all they love!
Odette tells him she's been in love with Siegfried for a while now,seeing him from the lake,and the warlock's daughter turns into Odette,as she wants the prince for herself,and in this way,her father can keep Odette.
I personally didn't like it, it was boring,the movie had a bad plot. The prince falls in love with the swan at first,honestly, then Odette! He just met her and wants to marry her!
The warlock had the power to turn people with lasers coming out of his eyes, he didn't need to say any incantations to turn anyone! He even turns Siegfried's friend like that! Not to mention, turns out, he didn't put a spell on Odette to be a swan by daylight and turn human at night, he just turns her into a swan daily!
All characters look alike,especially the women! They all have the same face! Also, I don't find them attractive, the only one who is attractive,to me, is the warlock's daughter, Odelle!
The prince is unattractive, and looks like a kid with bad hair!
The characters speak their thoughts out loud,which was boring and stupid, because it feels they mostly tell us what they're doing,instead of showing us!
The movie is dubbed in English and the voice actors are bad (this movie is the perfect example of why I hate dubbed movies)! They just sound bored and tired.
The soundtrack,by Tchaikovsky, was good.
