The teen romantic comedy is based on the "Snow White" fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
Sydney, who grew up raised by her father and his construction team, pledges for the sorority her mother was in,being a legacy.
From the beginning we see the girl in charge of this sorority doesn't like her, because she has this idea about herself and the guy she wants and..he obviously likes Sydney.
Sydney endured everything this girl puts the pledges through, and yet, at the ceremony to become a member of the sorority, the lead of the sorority denies her entry.
Sydney is taken in by a group of 7 boys who don't fit in anywhere, and who live in a house which is devastated but kinda reminds of fairytales, a house known as the Vortex.
The movie is one of my favorites, I still like it,and still makes me laugh after all this time. The movie has heart, the characters have growth.
The 7 boys Sydney ends up living with, become like her brothers, protecting her.
Whenever I watch movies about pledges and sororities or fraternities, I'm appalled at the atrocities they are put through, things which are done just to humiliate, and I don't understand why people put others through it, and why the ones put through it, allow it to happen. Everything is just stupid.
The acting was good.
The soundtrack was good, as I recall some pretty famous songs were covered in the movie, like "When I see you smile" by rock band Bad English.
The movie was a flop, as it grossed only 13 million dollars against a budget of 16 million.
Still, CinemaScore audiences gave the movie an A- (!) on an A+ to F scale!
Rating : Worth a watch !
