The movie depicts a fictional US Navy Seal team rescue mission in today's version of a Nigerian Civil War.
Lieutenant Waters and his team are tasked with rescuing doctor Lena Fiore Kendricks, who is an American by marriage, before the rebels who torture and k1ll everyone, reach the hospital she works at,in the jungle .
Doctor Lena accepts to go, if all her friends and patients who can walk, can come with her . Waters calls his superior, and lies to her his superior agrees.
When the helicopter lands, Waters takes Lena with him, while his team hold the group back. Lena kicks, screams and spits Waters, like a spoiled child.
Seeing the rebels k1lling everyone in the nearby villages, while flying, Waters has a change of heart, and orders the pilot to take them back to the group.
They decide to walk through the jungle to the Cameroon border.
The movie was well put together, but for some unknown reason, bored me.
I love Monica Bellucci but her character annoyed me. I watched this movie before, and I didn't remember much of it,just that I didn't like it,and this character played by one of my favorite women, was annoying (because those people were there to rescue her, basically doing her a favor, but she was the one with demands. Beggars can't be choosers!). I though my perception would change, but here I was last night, going through the same emotions.
Also, the women, although they walked for days,in the heat and the rain, still looked great, they had makeup on! Who wears makeup in the jungle,in the first place?!
The actors were good. The extras were great, as they had to cry, scream and act scared. I honestly liked the extras more than I liked the actors.
The soundtrack was so and so,as in, it was Ok,until they played some wining song with weird vocals.
You can watch the movie for free on Hoopla, and is for rent / sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.
Rating : Could have been a contender !
