The movie is based on the 1954 short story by Phillip K.Dick, Adjustment Team.
David is a politician on the rise. One day,he meets Elise,as he is preparing to give his losing speech.
The next morning he meets her on the bus,and they spend the day together. They are very attracted to each other, they kiss, and he promises to call her the next day.
Right after, when he gets to work he sees these people who put everyone on pause, and seem to be working on his friend. He is caught by these people in hats who can open doors which lead to other places. He is told he is never to see Elise again, and they take her phone number. They also tell him if he tells anyone about them, they're gonna wipe his memory.
Three years later,he still takes the same bus he met Elise on,trying to find her. My question is,why didn't she try to find him,she knew who he was,and where to find him,as he was a famous politician, all she had to do,was go to where he was scheduled to appear!
He sees Elise on the street, and stops the bus, running after her. They spend the day together,as the men in hats talk about how to separate them.
This was one of my favorite movies,I still liked it, last night when I watched it,but not as much, because now I see the flaws with it.
To me,this movie is a merge of Matrix with Vanilla Sky,or definitely of sci fi with romance. The scenes in which they open a door and they are somewhere else, are definitely like the Matrix.
I didn't like the dancing,I think it's modern dancing,I hated it. I didn't like her clothes.
The actors were good.
The visual effects were great.
The soundtrack, composed by Thomas Newman, was great.
The movie received positive reviews, and grossed 127.8 million dollars against a budget of 62 million.
The movie is 7 days free on Hollywood Suite Amazon Channel, with subscription on Hollywood Suite, for rent/ sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.
Rating : Worth a watch !
