Eli is a nomad in a post apocalyptic world. He says he's been traveling for 30 years looking for a place on the West Coast, where his book must be delivered.

He spends his days hunting- cats or birds- for food, and looking for water which is very hard to find now, looking for shelter at night and clothes to wear , and avoiding the criminals on daytime.

His travels take him to a small town where people gathered in a community. The community is led by a man who sends his people who don't know how to read or write,to kill and rob people, looking for books.

Seeing how Eli killed his men in a fight his men started as he dared pushing one of them's cat off his belongings, he wants Eli to work for him.

Eli is not interested, but the man doesn't let him leave, and at night sends his mistress' daughter to him,to compel him to stay. This doesn't work,as Eli is not interested.

Instead, he teaches her how to pray before eating.

The girl teaches her mother how to pray in the presence of the villain, and that's how we find out the book he looks for is the Bible,as he wants to become a preacher or maybe a prophet, to have power over the weak and superstitious,as he thinks he doesn't have enough power already .

He finds out Eli left,so he gathers his men, tracking him down.

The actors were good.

The movie is on this brown, sometimes gray colors, sometimes black and white,as if to suggest the darkness of the world after, I'm assuming, the nuclear war.

In certain regards the movie reminded me of Mad Max,and I think it was actually inspired by it.There are certain scenes which I've seen in Mad Max,with the woman tied to the cart, asking for help,so when the traveler helps her men come to rob and kill him.

At the end we discover the book is in Braille, suggesting Eli is blind, but the thing is, if you watch the movie, he most definitely is not! That would explain why his sense of smell and sound were so good, but still doesn't add up,as we see his eyes without glasses, and his eyes are fine,he doesn't look off.

The CGI is good, I liked the fighting scenes, which, some involve cutting people's limbs.

The movie is streaming on Netflix, and is for rent / sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango At Home, Google Play, Microsoft, YouTube.

Rating : Worth a watch !
