Year of release : 1985

Run time : 1h59min

Genre : Historical Horror / Adventure / Science Fiction / Fantasy

Cast : Sting, Jennifer Beals, Clancy Brown, Cary Elwes

The movie is based on the 1818 Mary Shelly, Frankenstein book .

The movie starts right off the bat with Doctor Frankenstein trying to bring a woman to life on a stormy night, helped by his employees.

He succeeds, but he refuses to give her to his creature,as promised. Instead, he decides to teach her everything and make her his equal.

His creature, who is pretty slow, gets upset and sets the place on fire, killing Frankenstein's employees.

Frankenstein names the woman Eva,after the first woman ever created, and after teaching her everything she needs to know,he introduces her to the high society. He lies to everyone, including her, when asked about her background.

The creature befriends a dwarf, Rinaldo, who everyone picks on,due to his stature, who is going to Budapest to look for work in the circus. The man names him Viktor, which means " he will win",as the creature told him he loves Eva. They find work at the circus, but the boss doesn't like Rinaldo and thinks about getting rid of him.

I personally didn't enjoy the movie,I found it long and boring. Not much happens. And it's not a horror movie as labeled on Google.

The scenes are cut weird, in one scene they are in one place, then it abruptly cuts to another,a close up,and Sting is in a different part of the same room, like a vampire.

The movie is built in such a way to suggest a connection between Eva and Viktor, as when she spins and gets dizzy,he gets dizzy too, when he's sad,she cries too, although they are in different parts of the country. I don't understand how can they be connected, even through the way they were created, both brought back to life, still makes no sense.

Also,it's revealed Frankenstein's name is Evan of something, and maybe that;s why he named her Eva,at this point I was on my phone, that's how much I liked it,and don't remember exactly.

The Bride is streaming on Tubi Tv, and is for rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, DIRECTV, Google Play Movies, Microsoft Store, Vudu, YouTube.
