The series are based on the 2014 ,2 seasons, Dutch series, Nieuwe Buren (New Neighbors).

Evie and Pete move to a new neighborhood. Right away, they meet Danny, a man who can lift anything, and his wife, Becka, who help them move their furniture in. Pete doesn't seem to like Danny.

Pretty soon, Pete discovers Danny,a traffic cop, and Becka, a Yoga instructor, are in an open marriage, as he sees a couple coming to their door, while Becka waits for them in lingerie.

Becka has a stalker, who is passed his prime, who not only spies on her from his window, but also gets the keys from where she hides them (speaking of which, do people actually leave their keys outside like that, the way they show us in movies?Because anyone could find them and violate their privacy, robbing them! ), makes copies, and enters their home,looking through their things, copying their nasty videos and taking pictures.

When Becka and Danny treat him badly, he retaliates by putting Becka's video online.

Evie was pregnant, and miscarries. She finds a friend and confidant in Becka, especially since her family is very religious, and her parents ,especially her father, are very cold towards her and her sister.

Danny needs money, as he has a kid from a previous relationship (or a swing party, I'm not sure) who seems as old as his own son. He finds out one of his colleagues escort rich gangsters with their shipments, and wants in, then out, and so on.

Pete is an investigative journalist and ends up writing a piece about the gangster Danny has a deal with, their shipment going bad, the van being robbed, now Danny and his colleague having to find out who did it and get the shipment (diamonds) back.

When Evie finds out Becka and Danny are in an open marriage, she wants in, as she's been fantasizing about Danny since she first met him. She's been with Pete for 17 years, and he was her only man.

Now she wants to make Pete want to swing, as he doesn't seem to be into it.

Evie gets with Danny and gets pregnant. She seems to think her and Danny are in love, and when Pete hears about it, and tells her to get rid of the baby or they break up, she moves in with her parents.

Pete is resentful of Danny, and hates him, forgetting it takes two to tango, his wife being the one who pursued him. He decides to get his vengeance on him ,as if Evie is the innocent perfect good woman, when she's in fact to blame for everything.

The last episode was ridiculous, as Becka, who wanted an open marriage, feels betrayed because she didn't know her husband had a son from a previous relationship (that he didn't know about until recently either) . She says she can't trust Danny, blaming him for cheating on her, but ,wait a minute, I thought this was an open marriage, what's considered cheating in an open marriage ?! Apparently, it's cheating if she doesn't know about it, and is not present when they do the dirty . God, these people are so disgusting!

Evie is in a world of her own, as she thinks she's with Danny, while he wants nothing to do with her.

Speaking of Danny, he's in a bit of trouble, first with the gangster he works for, then the police. This ridiculous man tells his wife he feels he's not good enough for her, as she's perfect, and I couldn't help but laugh, as when I think of someone perfect, swingers don't come to mind.

Becka says she "worshipped" Danny from the moment she met him, yet she proves other wise, as it was her idea to swing, to have an open relationship, from the getgo! When you worship someone, you do the opposite !

These two say words which's meaning they don't understand, as they keep on speaking of love, while they have no idea what that word means, because if they did love each other, they would have had an exclusive relationship, not an open one! I can't tell you how much they annoyed me, how ridiculous they sounded in their fights with the words coming out of their mouths!

The movie bored me and annoyed me.

The characters were unlikeable, starting with Evie, who ,at first k1lls the fish her husband liked,2nd, is so obvious she falls for Danny, and when she hears he's in an open marriage, she thinks it's Ok to cheat (as she sees this as a way to get him, to be with him), considering her religious background, as the couple are Ok with it. She tries to manipulate Pete into wanting to swing, because she wants Danny, and is obvious she doesn't care for Pete anymore, and then turns it on Pete, trying to portray herself as the good guy, blaming him for her ideas and scheming, thinking this kind of behavior is normal.

Becka and Danny are despicable for how they live their lives. Why marry if you lead such an existence?! Why bring a child into it?

They consider a perv the old man who is stalking Becka, because they're not attracted to him, and don't want to eff him, but they don't see themselves as perverts for what they're doing! She's an empowered woman who lives her life the way she wants!

The pervy neighbor for what he's doing.. Evie's father.. Danny's baby mama, who demands money, although I'm not sure he has to pay alimony. She even dares say, although she admits she popped up into his life recently, because she needed money,that Danny sticks his head in the sand instead of telling his wife the truth .F@ck off b!tch,he did pay you when he could have just ignored you! She also talks to Becka as if they're besties, when they just met!

Pete doesn't know what he wants, he seems to want to move on, leave Evie, cheat, but then he says he loves her and doesn't want to leave her, but she needs to get rid of the baby.

I don't like this new era of bad b1tches, empowered women, as I don't find anything empowering in wanting to have your man f@ck other women. It means he's not yours, and you're at the level of an animal. Also, why is it, empowered woman also equals bad, mean and evil?! Basically a destructive woman!

I also hate this era of weak men, who's "empowered b1tches can do no wrong", who can't live without these witches, and want them back at any cost, no matter what they did to them!

Another thing that bothered me was , the perv m@sturbates in Becka's house, while touching her clothes, and has a stroke, his wife sees him, and calls the paramedics. When Danny and Becka get home, after they swing with Evie and Pete (Pete couldn't do it), they didn't notice anything unusual! Honestly, you're telling me the paramedics left everything untouched, getting the man out on that bed?! There was nothing out of place?! They didn't know someone was in their house, they just found the door opened! F@ck off movie! Who wrote this?!This movie,the plot, the dialogue ,these characters are so bad !!

The actors were good.

The soundtrack was good, eerie.

The series received negative reviews but were renewed for a new season, premiering on the 14th of July 2025 (today), which I won't be watching, as I've had enough of this nonsense.
