Sarah moves from San Francisco to Los Angeles with her father . On her first day at the new school she thinks she made three enemies, but she ends up being best friends with them. The 3 girls are considered witches.

At the same time she meets Chris,a boy she is attracted to, who tells her about the 3 girls and asks her on a date. After the date, because Sarah didn’t want to go all the way, he tells the school she’s a wh0re. Apparently he did the same to Nancy, the leader of the group of 3.

The 3 girls she befriends are indeed into witchcraft and seek a fourth,to be able to invoke the corners. Luckily for them, Sarah is a natural born witch, because her mother (who died) had the gift. They invoke the spirit and they have the Go. Problem is,that due to their troubled past ( Bonnie has a skin condition so she can’t wear normal clothing, Rochelle has a racist bully, Nancy is white trash),being teenagers and the problems in their daily lives, they start abusing the given powers. The only one who understands what they’ve done is Sarah who wants to stop, after seeing that her love spell put on Chris turned into obsession.

I personally enjoyed the movie, it's one of my favorites.

What I didn’t like, and this has nothing to do with the movie,is how fast the girls turned against Sarah once she tells them she wants out. Nancy starts abusing the powers, the other 2 don’t seem to have a mind of their own,or their own voice after this, they seem to be an extension of Nancy.

The visual effects still look good today.

The actors were great, Fairuza Balk was the best.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics, but debuted at number one in the charts, and grossed 55.6 million dollars at the box office against a budget of 15 million.

Wikipedia states that 85 actresses screen tested for the lead roles, among which Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and Alicia Silverstone.

The movie might have real spells , as a real life Wiccan was the on-set advisor for the movie.

Rating : It's so money !
