William Blake wakes up in the middle of an empty London street. The traffic lights are all stuck on green. After walking the empty streets for a long time,in complete silence,he finds a phone booth, trying to make a call, but it’s not working. After walking around for longer, and even destroying a car, in an attempt to make people hear the noise and come out, he walks into a building, going to the rooftop, looking as if he’s trying to jump.
A man who seems drunk, with a glass and a bottle in his hands, tells him not to jump. When asked about who he is, the man seems to remember something, and it seems he had an important job, but he says he has no idea about who he is, as his memory comes and goes.
A young woman calls him Henry, and when talking to her, it’s obvious he can’t even remember people’s names, as she keeps on telling him her name, and other people’s names, but he keeps on forgetting them.
The girl says her name is Chloe, and asks William to check his wallet, to see who he is. The two are joined by another man, Jack, who is a soldier.
They all go downstairs, and Jack, being a soldier, doesn’t trust William.
They all get flashes of who they were or what they did before ending up in the empty world, but they don’t seem to make sense. At the same time, a blindfolded man, who’s eyes are bleeding, seems to hunt them.
The soldier thinks it’s been an apocalyptic event which could explain why the empty streets in complete silence (there are no birds, no animals), the memory loss they all suffer from, and the lack of people anywhere, as it seems they are the only ones left.
In a church, a man finds another man who is praying, and a woman who doesn’t speak English, threatening the newcomer with a knife.
The man who prays although not a priest quotes the Bible a lot.
They come across Jack who takes the woman’s knife, and takes them with him to his group.
Henry quotes the Bible seeing the religious man, and collapses. When he wakes up he has a new personality and leaves them, and is caught by the blindfolded man.
Chloe remembers Henry is her father.
The soldier sees a little girl he unintentionally k1lled while on a mission, and the blindfolded man shows up, k1lling him.
The time is always 7:35, as if all clocks stopped at that hour.
I personally enjoyed the movie. I think it would have been better if the scenes in which they remember things were played slower as if through foggy glasses, instead of flashes, on fast forward, as if it’s an action movie.
When the flashbacks start to happen more and more often, lasting longer, we see all they say and do is related, meaning most of them know each other.
SPOILER The blindfolded man is the angel of death or the Grim Reaper. They are in between life and death, as some of them wake up in the real world, while the ones taken by the blindfolded man, die. I’m guessing the ones who didn’t wake up nor die, are in a coma, hence, stay longer in this place. END OF SPOILERS
Soon, it’s starting to make sense the religious man is the reason they’re all there.
The acting was good.
The soundtrack when it kicks in, because the movie most of the time is silent, it good.
The visual effects were good.
The movie only has an 11% rating from the audiences of Rotten Tomatoes, and a 3.8 one from IMDB.
The movie is labelled as an action movie on Google, but I assure you, it’s not.
