A group of medical researchers try to find a way to bring people back from the dead. They do tests on animals,like pigs and dogs,but so far,nothing.

They hire a woman to film them on their project,to document everything.

They have a breakthrough, as they bring a dog back from the dead. Not just that,it seems the Lazarus serum they injected it with, healed its vision.

Testing the dog,they realize it has incredible brain activity.

One of them worries about the side effects of the serum,which doesn't dissipate, and it makes the patients aggressive and insane.

The university dean finds out what they are doing and shuts them down. A major pharmaceutical company bought the company which funded their research,and confiscates everything they worked on.

 

Desperate to prove they invented the serum formula, they decide to come back to the lab,at night, to redo the experiment on another dog.

While working on the project,Zoe is electrocuted,as she forgot to take her jewelry off. Her fiance tries to revive her,but it's not working. So,he injects her with the serum.

Zoe wakes up,and starts showing weird behavior. She tells her fiance she's been in hell,in the nightmare she has since she's been a child,which kept on playing for years (at the end of the movie we find out why she was in hell). She was only dead for an hour!

At first she can hear their thoughts,and doesn't like what they're thinking, and sees that she can move objects with her mind. Also,when she sleeps,she takes Eva (the woman they hired to document their project) in the dream with her,burning her hand in reality.

I personally enjoyed the movie, but I wished I knew what is going for, because I don't understand. Is Zoe evil,and why?

After she comes back she starts to slowly lose it,at first taking it on the dog,then on her friends.

 

SPOILERS I don't understand why she k!lls everybody,to bring them back. I don't know if this is supposed to suggest she went insane or she's just evil now,as maybe she thinks-her being religious-God failed her,and this is some sort of revenge. Although,it might be suggested SPOILER that she caused the fire,so maybe she was evil all along,she just pushed it down?!

Not many things make sense, as to me it looked she was trying to redeem herself,from what she's done when she was a kid,that's why she was trying so hard . Until she came back and everything changed. Like,she lost all the good she had left within her when she understood no matter what she did now to atone for what she did when she was a kid,it wasn't enough,she wasn't forgiven.

I think the nightmares were a clue that she felt remorse.

STILL SPOILERS She wants to make her team like her,but controlled by her?(she injects them with the serum taken from her veins ) Maybe is because she wants them all to go after the company which stole their research?!

She injected herself with all the serum,maybe in fear of dying,and wanting to have more power?!

Fun fact : the movie was filmed in 30 days.

The visual effects were good.

The actors were great.

 

The soundtrack was great.
