Samantha was born only 8 years before the movie opens, on a beach in New Jersey, as she doesn’t remember who she is since. She only had on her a key she doesn’t know what is it from, that she wears on a bracelet. She has many scars, and thinks her age may be 35 years old. Samantha is a school teacher, has a 8 year old daughter, and is seeing a nice guy she loves.

Mitch is a private investigator, who has been working on a missing persons case for years, and finally has a lead.

One night, driving a drunk neighbor home who can’t keep his hands to himself, Samantha hits a deer, and is thrown out of the car through the windshield. And she starts remembering things.

Before that, Samantha played Ms. Claus in the Christmas parade, and when it’s televised, a one eye inmate has a fit and breaks out of jail, looking for her.

After being released from the hospital, Samantha, who had a dream about her name being Charlie, has new abilities with the knife…making her think she used to be a chef.

Timothy is a k1ller, who can tell when someone is lying to him. He receives a call being told about the inmate breaking out after seeing Samantha on tv. Timothy thought he k1lled Samantha 8 years prior.

Samantha takes her daughter ice skating, but the little girl is afraid of skating, and Samantha forces her to do it, although she falls and breaks her wrist. Later in the evening Samantha confesses she blacked out and doesn’t remember what she said or done to her daughter when she broke her wrist.

Christmas carolers are at the door, and opening it, Samantha is sh0t at by the inmate. When the man tries to k1ll her, she surprises herself at how she reacts, at how she manages to k1ll the guy and rescue her daughter.

Mitch arrives at her place right when the police show up, telling her her daughter is safe in his car.

Samantha leaves the next day with Mitch, trying to find out who she is.

She calls dr. Waldman who asks her to meet, but when she gets to the meeting point, men sho0t at her, after Timothy approaches her and sees she doesn’t recognize him. She surprises herself again, and Mitch, with her fighting skills, as she gets them out of trouble.

When Waldman finally approaches them and offers them a ride, he tells them Samatha , the school teacher, is her cover if she’s ever in danger, and she ended up believing her cover, as he’s trained her to be an assassin for the government, her real name being Charlie .

Mitch doesn’t trust him, beating him, and leaving with Samantha, and they end up at the place of a man she believes to be her ex fiancé.

Waldman catches up with them, and tells them the reason Charlie knows so much about the man is because he’s her target, realizing they are in danger.

 

Timothy catches them, k1lling Waldman and tying her up to a wheel which drowns her, as her target wants to know what she knows about him. The more he sinks her in the cold water, the more Samantha remembers about her old self, getting her assassin instincts back. She realizes to survive she needs to k1ll the people who want her dead.

I personally enjoyed the movie. It was action packed, and Geena Davis was amazing, I loved the action scenes involving her. Samuel L. Jackson was funny, cracking me up all the time with his lines. So was Brian Cox.

The movie centers around Christmas, and it seems it was very cold when they filmed it.

Geena Davis was beautiful, I loved her with her natural long locks. She had to walk barefoot through snow and freezing water, among many things. She has a lot of fighting scenes, and she’s so bad a$$!

After she realizes who she is, she changes her look, as she looked completely different before being an amnesiac.

The acting was great.

The soundtrack was so and so, but good for what was on at the time. I didn’t like it when the saxophone kicked in, as I thought it didn’t match at all whatever was on the screen.

The visual effects were good.

The movie received positive reviews, with Cinema Score audiences grading the movie an A-.

The movie grossed 95.5 million dollars at the box office, against a budget of 65 million dollars.
