The movie is based on J.R.R Tolkien's series of books The Lord of the Rings ( a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's book,The Hobbit), the title referring to the main antagonist of the story, the dark lord Sauron, who created one ring to rule the other rings of power given to men, dwarves and elves.

The 2nd installment, named after the 2nd book, opens with Gandalf's fight with the demon.

Frodo and Sam are traveling alone towards Mount Doom. They are closely followed by the creature Gollum who, after trying to take the ring, offers to show them the way. Sam doesn't trust him, but Frodo pities Gollum,as he's afraid he's gonna end up like him.

They are captured by Boromir's brother, who was asked by his father to find the Ring of Power and bring it to him.

The orcs capture Merry and Pippin, and Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas are tracking them.

In Rohan, Saruman's man took hold of the kingdom, and Saruman of the king's mind. He makes the king cast out his most trusted man, and his trusted men followed. They meet the party looking for the hobbits, and tell them they killed the orcs but didn't see any hobbits.

In the attack the hobbits ran into the forest everyone fears, as the trees are alive. They are captured by a talking tree who thinks them orcs and wants to kill them, as orcs destroy the forests. Trying to make sure of what they are, he asks the White Wizzard.

The orc armies are sent to Rohan, as the king, now of sane mind, is leading his people to what he thinks is safety. But,the orcs are close on their tracks.

Although the movie is long, it did not bore me, I loved it. I found it a bit slower than the first one, as it felt it had more "quiet" moments. The characters are traveling from one place to another, and we see them connect with their fellow travelers.

The title of the movie refers to the tower of Sauron, and the tower of Saruman.

Just like the first one, the movie also has its funny moments.

The actors were all good. I actually liked all the characters and actors, just like with the first movie, which is a rare thing to me, the only movie which ever pulled that off was Fringe( tv series).

The visual effects still stand the test of time.

The soundtrack was great!

The credits of the movie last for 20 minutes!

The movie is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, HBO Max Amazon Channel, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, Apple, DirecTv, Google, Redbox, YouTube.

Rating : The stuff dreams are made of!
