The movie opens with a vision Neo has.

We get to see Zion, the last city of humanity, hidden towards the core of the earth where is warm.

Their ship is the last one to enter Zion,as Morpheus has a plan to defeat the machines, and not everybody in Zion is on board,as they want the ships to stay on base.

We get to see the love story between Trinity and Neo blossom,as they are in the first stages of their relationship, and are very much in love(although,at the same time, they look pretty sad, jaded, and not much a couple, especially one in love).

People of Zion see Neo as their savior, their Messiah, and welcome him with gifts, asking him to watch over their loved ones. Neo has a fan in the person of a teenager he saved.

Neo is burden with the vision he saw,of Trinity's death.

They go see the Oracle who tells him she had to tell him what he needed to hear not the truth when telling him he wasn't the one. She tells him they need the Key Master in order for the plan they concocted to work. The Merovingian has the Key Master, and he's not willing to let him go.

Neo discovers not only that Agent Smith isn't dead, but that he came back with a few enhancements - an army of clones.

I don't quite care about what happens in Zion, the plot is not great,I don't like Niobe and the guy she's with. Speaking of Niobe,I didn't like Jada Pinkett Smith's interpretation,as she comes off as a b!tch..her acting is stiff, and she always seems angry.

The acting was fine, but.Neo and Trinity are supposed to be in love, but I don't feel that love. That love they speak of should be all over them, their look, their mannerisms. They should be happy, smile when they look at each other..They look sad, depressed and faded all the time.Somebody said it,and I think it was The Critical Drinker, that Neo and Trinity look like beautiful mannequins unable to act love.

The same goes with Morpheus and Niobe.

May I say,Keanu was beautiful when he was young. Not that now he isn't,but I don't like long hair on men,and that's pretty much all I see when I see a man with long hair.

Keanu as Neo seems the perfect fit,as I heard that Will Smith and Tom Cruise were offered the part before him,and refused. I don't see anyone playing Neo,and becoming Neo quite like Keanu did.

The action scenes were amazing, the fighting scenes were unbelievably beautiful,in some cases they look like dancing, such beautiful choreography with gymnastics incorporated in it.

The world of the Matrix is on the same green colors,as if there is no color in this world or the machines don't know how to create it,while Zion is full of color. They keep the noir vibe in this movie,as certain scenes, the way they were shot, the angles, the shadows, give me that feeling, remind me of the world of the noir movies.

I loved the actors' outfits, most of them wear black, and they look so distinguished. There's only a few of them who wear other colors inside the Matrix - other than the colors of this faded, plain world ,shades of green and khaki - ,as the Oracle wears the colors of the world, shades of green and khaki(as if to say she is fully submerged in this world),and Persephone wears pearl white(as if saying she is not controlled by the rules of this world).

I personally, when it comes to certain scenes, understand why people say the sequels to the Matrix are bad and unworthy. In my opinion there was no reason for the very long, I might add, party scene in Zion,a scene which goes on for 20 minutes,I think! It just drags on,and it's just people dancing, with not such good music,in what actually is a really good soundtrack! Women wear see-through blouses and you can see their breasts, at the same we see Neo and Trinity doing the nasty.

There's another scene with a woman, the Merovingian considers beautiful, when actually the beautiful one is right next to him,Monica Bellucci, and sends her a cake which gives her an org@sm!

Another scene I think has no place in the Matrix is with Persephone asking Neo to kiss her like she was Trinity.

To me these scenes were unworthy of the Matrix, they degrade it.

I also find boring the scenes happening in Zion, showing us people we just met that we're supposed to care for.I'd rather see Neo and Trinity or Morpheus interact with their loved ones.

When it comes to visual effects, most of them were fine, except for in the fight between Neo and the Agent Smith army, after he talked to the Oracle, the CGI of Neo blends with the real scenes with Keanu, and you can tell it's fake, because his pants suddenly become larger, and so does his long coat, and it just looks like a cartoon. I think they do the same thing when Neo saves Morpheus and the Key Maker from the explosion.

Apart from these things,I really enjoyed the movie,I still liked it,after all this time(I have the trilogy on original videotape, plus the Animatrix ) and watching it again I was surprised to see I noticed things I missed the first times I watched them, and I actually understood the conversation Neo had with the Architect, because the first time with subtitles I had no time to read,as he was talking so fast, and didn't quite get it,but now, without reading the subtitles,I understood it!

The Matrix trilogy is streaming on HBO Max and HBO Max Amazon Channel, and is for rent  / sale on Amazon, Apple, Google Play, Vudu, YouTube.
