The Mist is based on the 1980 horror Stephen King novella of the same name.
After a bad storm which had trees falling ,destroying houses, David, a neighbor and his son,go to the supermarket to get supplies.
While there, a dense fog envelops the mall and the whole town. An old man comes from the fog scared, saying creatures in the fog took one of his friends.
Pretty soon the authorities' alarm goes off, and something resembling an earthquake happens.
The people close the mall, and soon David hears and sees a creature with tentacles trying to get into the mall. He tries to warn the others, but they don't believe him.
Whoever ventures outside finds a fast and horrible death, and an unlikeable customer is sure it's the apocalypse, and starts citing the Bible, telling people it's Judgment Day, the wrath of God being sent upon them. Unluckily, due to the atrocities seen, most people get brainwashed by her, and are willing to sacrifice anyone for their own survival, even the children.
The actors were all great,I loved their interpretation, especially since the CGI wasn't so good, and I'm guessing they had to pretend horrible creatures were in front of them. They also had to mimic fear and cry most of the time, and the reactions were exactly how one would react in such situations.
Marcia Gay Harden was annoying as the obsessed Bible lady, but great.
The visual effects weren't so good, but not so bad, as the creatures seemed mostly like animations, one could tell they weren't real.
The movie is streaming on Netflix, and is for rent or sale on Amazon, Apple, AMC on Demand, DirecTv,Google Play Movies, Redbox, Vudu,YouTube.
