The movie is based on the Marvel comics Punisher by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru and John Romita Sr. The Punisher was an anti-hero, who first appeared in Spider-Man,as an assassin and adversary of Spider-Man.

The son of mafia boss Howard Saint is trying to buy guns from Otto Krieg,an arms dealer. The FBI surveys the trade, and when they reveal themselves, the son of the mafia boss fires,so he is shot.

Behind the scenes it turns out Otto Krieg who was shot dead,is very much alive,and everything was staged. He turns out to be undercover FBI agent Frank Castle,who just finished his last mission.

Coming home to his wife and son, Frank goes on a vacation with his family and relatives,in Puerto Rico,before moving to London,making sure his line of work doesn't follow him home.

Grieving his son's death, Howard Saint,asks his men to find anything about the operation,and he finds the truth,including about Castle. He sends his men to k1ll him,but his wife asks them to k1ll his whole family.

The assassins surround the gathering in Puerto Rico,and k!ll everyone,running over Castle's wife and son. They find him just when he found their bodies and shoot him. Trying to make sure he's dead they burn the bridge he was on,down. Luckily for him the explosion catapults him into the water,saving his life.

Castle is rescued by a local fisherman. After he heals,he returns to Tampa and plots his revenge.

He moves into an abandoned apartment,in a building where only three other people live,sets up traps,builds his car,and...drinks a lot.

He first catches one of Saint's people who hate Saint,and after he threatens him a bit(pretending to torture him-that scene was funny), the man not only tells him the truth,but agrees to help him. He also tells him his whole family was k!lled because Saint's wife wanted it.

After he lets them know he's still alive,he decides to start pinning them against each other, making Saint believe his best friend and right hand,who was gay, was having an affair with his wife (the wife Saint was mad about) who was going to the movies on Thursdays by herself ( how convenient. She also left her purse in the car,with everything in it,making it too easy for Castle if you ask me.)

Whenever he goes on a mission Castle puts on the t-shirt his son gave him,and one by one he takes his enemies down.

The movie had great action scenes,the stunts were good, the explosions looked real,and even made me laugh a few times.

The acting was great.

The soundtrack was Ok.
