Season 1

10 episodes

This corporation created androids to entertain people. People who like to r@pe and k!ll. These androids are r@ped and k!lled over and over again ( one of them was said to have died more than a thousand times !), and then reprogrammed, memory deleted. Some are decommissioned if people aren't interested in them.

Bernard, the programmer, is obsessed with Alice in Wonderland, what I understood is supposed to be an MK Ultra book, which fits perfectly with the whole idea of them reprogramming the androids after each "life",after people had their way with them. Mk Ultra is supposed to be mind control and programming.

SPOILER - we find out Bernard is also an android under mind control. His mind is really not his own, he is told what to do, controlled, mind erased.

The movie blends the past with the present without letting the audience know. It could be due to the great reveal at the end which was priceless, although,I have to admit, I saw it coming.

The actors are great, especially the ones playing the androids.

I love how they play their memories just like in real life ,you see the image, the moment ,as they speak or recall it.

The music is a symphonic arrangement of pop-rock songs like Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones,or Black Hole Sun,by the Soundgarden. The piano keeps on playing Amy Winehouse's Back to Black.

Season 2

10 episodes

Season 2 starts where season 1 ended, with the rise of the hosts who are seen k!lling everyone who was at the party.

We get to see what the true purpose of building machines was,to merge the human mind ( consciousness) ,with the android body, just that it didn't work, the mind entered a repetitive state and went mad.

The park is using surveillance to know everything the guests do,even what they think,to copy their minds with a device built in the hosts.

The more I watched the less I cared. It just felt they only wanted to show the park and not follow the characters already introduced,by adding more and more characters.

If they don't have a love story,I lose my interest, and they put it in the shape of the Lakota members.

The actors,I can find them no fault, they are all great, from the ones so perfect at playing androids,to the man in black,Ed Harris.

The season had a good soundtrack, and another one of my favorite actors ,Hiroyuki Sanada, along side Rodrigo Santoro and James Marsden, plays in the second season.

I only watched 2 seasons, as I really hated the 2nd season.

An HBO original, the series stream on HBO .

Rating : for season 1 : It's so money !

for season 2 : Could have been a contender !
