The movie is based on the comic book series of the same name by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber, released in 4 issues in 1998.

In 1957 a Russian plane crashes after the 2 pilots decide to k!ll the men on board.

In present day, US marshall Carrie Stetko is working in Antarctica, where everything always runs without incident,trying to forget what happened to her on her last job in Miami.

On her last week on the job,before returning home after 2 years in Antarctica, they discover a body. Which was stabbed. Carrie tries to solve the case in three days,before she leaves with the last plane out of Antarctica,before the sun sets for six months and she is stuck there in the cold stormy weather.

She finds out the man was a scientist who was looking for meteorites.

 

She goes to the Russian Antarctic station, Vostok ,where the dead man's scientists team work. She finds the one she was supposed to meet, dying from a neck wound,while she is being attacked by a hooded masked man with an ax.

She barely makes it back,but not without serious wounds which cause her to lose 2 fingers.

A UN agent is examining the body of the second scientist,and they come to the conclusion the 3d one k1lled them.

They decide to investigate the site where they were doing their research. They find nothing,but the snow looks rearranged. Just then,Carrie falls through the ice and snow,and finds the lost Russian plane.

The box they were thinking about having nuclear fuel in is found opened and empty,and they think whoever is k1lling everyone involved in the discovery wants to sell it to arms traffickers and keep the money to himself.

The movie had a good plot,all of this happens under serious weather conditions,as the weather keeps on deteriorating. We also see how life is at the base and what the people there are doing,researching..etc.

The investigation also has a sort of deadline,as Carrie wants to leave..all this while she is haunted by what happened to her on her last job in the US,her memories revealing more and more each time, to us.

The acting was good,Kate was the best.

The visual effects were good,I liked the one with the man falling from the building.

The soundtrack was Ok.
