X-Men Origins : Wolverine

The movie is based on the Marvel fictional character Wolverine of the X Men comics. It's the 4th installment of the X Men franchise, the 1st installment of the Wolverine movies, and a prequel spin off of the 2000 X Men movie.

 

James and his brother Victor,flee their home,after James k!lls his father who killed whom he thought to be his real father.

The two fight together through all the wars,from the Civil War to the 1st and 2nd World War,the Vietnam war,and so on. As James gets tired of all the k1lling, Victor seems to like it.

They are being recruited by major William Stryker,and they become part of his special team,as all the men in his team are mutants.

After Stryker gives orders for the people of a village to be k1lled for not telling them where the meteor site was,James leaves the team.

6 years later, James lives in Canada as a logger,with his girlfriend, Kayla.

Stryker reaches out,telling him someone is targeting the team members,while Victor has gone rogue,two of them being already dead.

After Victor k1lls Kayla,it's obvious to James,Victor is the one k1lling the team members.

Stryker convinces James to reinforce his skeleton with adamantium,the indestructible metal found at the meteor site,to be able to fight Victor.

As he is undergoing the procedure, James hears Stryker telling his scientists to erase his memory,so he escapes.

 

He takes shelter at an old couple's home,but not for long,as Stryker k1lls them in order to get to him.

James is now on a vengeance path to k1ll Stryker and his brother,Victor.

The movie didn't bore me,it kept me entertained until the end with the computerized Deadpool, that's when I started laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.

But,just like in the XMen First Class prequels,what happens in this movie doesn't make sense nor match the storyline or universe of the X-Men movies which were already released.

 

Although it received mostly negative reviews from critics, the movie was a financial success at the box office, grossing 373 million dollars against a budget of 150 million.

The name Wolverine comes from a story Kayla tells James about the moon.

The actors were great.

The visual effects seemed Ok,until the scenes with Deadpool.

The soundtrack was Ok.

The movie is with subscription on Disney+, and is for rent / sale on Amazon, AppleTv, Fandango at Home.
